The Bound Tongue

The Bound Tongue is a wickless wax effigy crafted as a vegan alternative to animal tongues traditionally used in speech-work. Made from the same ritual gel wax as The Kept Heart. The Bound Tongue is designed for both harsh bindings and gentle speech-sweetening, depending on your intent.

To use The Bound Tongue, first decide the direction of your working. Whether you intend to bind, silence, sweeten, freeze, or dissolve someone’s speech. Once the intention is set, carve the target’s name or sigil into the wax, then cut a small slit and place your written petition inside before pressing the wax closed. For binding or silence, wrap the tongue tightly with cord or pierce it with pins. For sweetening, dress it with a touch of honey or oil and wrap it in soft ribbon. To freeze conflict, place the effigy in the freezer; to dissolve influence, melt it in a fire-safe bowl.
